The GANESH
CYCLONE CS - 32 is a 7-axis
Ø1.25” (32mm)
bar diameter CNC screw machine turning center: This
machine is a
sliding headstock machine w/o a guide bushing, which
helps to facilitates fast setups, excellent work piece
concentricity, and superior cutting rigidity over conventional turning
centers and screw machines. The CYCLONE CS - 32 gang plate
configuration along with the simultaneous subspindle allows for shorter
cycle-times because the subspindle can work independently &
simultaneously with the main spindle and with the gang style tooling,
the chip to chip is much quicker than waiting for a turret to index and
feed. . The multi-axis CYCLONE CS 32 does not require the use of ground barstock
like Swiss-style machines must use, which represents an additional costs
savings when using this machine design. The CS CNC screw machine
configuration also allows for shorter cycle times due to the enhanced
rigidity and the ability to aggressively rough-out material and finish
with a second tool, all while achieving greater tool life. The CS can
use as many of the 27-available tools as necessary to rough and finish a
feature on the workpiece, unlike conventional Swiss machines that are
limited by the length of the guide bushing, and must make the rough and
finish cut with one-tool in one-pass. These advantages are particularly
evident in shorter work pieces with lower length-to-diameter ratios than
when machining with a conventional Swiss-style lathe using a guide
bushing. |

The
multi-axis GANESH CYCLONE CS - 32 lathe features a total of 27-tool stations. The Main Spindle uses 18-tools, which comprise of a bank of 4-live cross tools, a bank of 3-axial live tools, 6-turing tool stations, and 5-ID tool stations, all in a gang configuration. Additional cutting tools can be utilized in machining the workpiece by double-tooling the ID-tools stations with dual insert boring bar holders for rough and finish boring, boring and turning, boring and threading etc. The Counter Spindle provides an additional 9-tools
4 of which are live tools for machining the second side of the workpiece.
The CYCLONE CS - 32 Main Spindle has a 7.5” X-axis stroke, a Y-axis travel of 11” for full off-centerline machining capability, and the Z-axis has 6.5” of headstock movement. The high –performance full-featured rotary C-axis has 360,000 positions (0.001-degree resolution) for engraving and other complex radial machining details
such as contour milling. The 5-station fixed ID gang tooled slide can uses ER-20 collets to hold cutting tools. All of the rotary tooling included with the machine also uses the same ER-20 collets for tool shanks up to ½” (13mm). The Counter Spindle has an X-axis stroke of 11.53”, a Y-axis of 11.61”, and a full-featured rotary C-axis with 360,000 positions (0.001-degree resolution) for engraving and other complex radial machining details.
The 8000-pound GANESH CYCLONE CS - 32 is equipped with a
10hp Main and 5hpCounter spindle motors, each with a 6000-rpm spindles. The machine features rigid tapping and a PC-based control with program assist for fast and easy canned cycle development for efficient programming at the machine, and also uses standard EIA coding for off-line programming using the RS-232 port and a 3.5” floppy disk drive for program transfer.
This compact machine comes complete with a
parts catcher, and hydraulic collet chuck that
uses Traub A-32 “Dead Length” collets
for barstock up to Ø1.25”. A complete line of barfeeders and automatic barloaders for 3’, 6’ and 12’ barstock is available for unattended high-production machining applications. |
